One night in the last ten nights of Ramadan is called Laylatul Qadr, which is a night of great value and good fortune. It is one of the most important and consecrated nights in the Islamic calendar. It is a Night of Power. In the month of Ramadan, where we take the opportunity to achieve a lot of rewards from ALLAH, for our good actions on the night of Shab e Qadr.

Layla tul qadr is the night when the Holy Quran was first sent down from Allah to Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم )

Layla tul qadr is the night when the first revelation was received to our prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم ). In the first revelation, ALLAH highlights the importance of education in islam. As Muslims, we believe that the holy Quran is the words of Allah. The holy Quran was first revealed to our prophet( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) in the cave of Hira (Jabal Al-Noor), at the age of forty years. He was untaught and yet could recite the Holy verses to his people so they would worship Allah and become Muslim. the first 5 verses of the Holy Quran to be revealed to Prophet Muhammad( صلى الله عليه وسلم) by Jibril angel in the cave of Hira, was, 

ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ١خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ٢  ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ ٣ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ ٤ عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ ٥ 

” Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created—created humans from a clinging clot.Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, Who taught by the pen-taught humanity what they knew not. ” 

we should learn and follow the Holy Quran in our daily lives. In Islamic countries, it is easy to learn and follow the orders of Allah Almighty but in Western and non islamic countries it is very difficult. So in this situation, we should try learning quran online and follow it out of faith or core of hearts.

Do you know when Laylatul Qadr is?

According to numerous Ahadiths, the exact date of Laylatul Qadr is unsure, but we can search it in the last ten days of Ramadan.

Narrated `Aisha: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.” (Sahih al Bukhari Book 32, Hadith 4)

But most of people believe that it is the 27th night of Ramadan. Similarly, the majority of scholars also say it’s on the 27th Night of Ramadan.

In the Sunan of Abu Dawud Mu’awiyah (ra) narrated “The Messenger of Allah (pbuh)said regarding the night of al-Qadr It is the 27th night (of Ramadan).” (Sunan Abi Dawud 1386)

But we should try to search shab e qadr in the last ten days of Ramadan.

What does the Holy Quran say about shab e Qadr?

 In the Quran, the exact date of shab e qadr is not clear, The holy Quran says

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ ١ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ ٢  لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍۢ ٣  تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍۢ ٤  سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ ٥ 

” Indeed, ˹it is˺ We ˹Who˺ sent this ˹Quran˺ down on the Night of Glory.1 And what will make you realize what the Night of Glory is? The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months. That night the angels and the ˹holy˺ spirit1 descend, by the permission of their Lord, for every ˹decreed˺ matter.It is all peace until the break of dawn.”

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.  Sahih al-Bukhari 2014(Book 32, Hadith 1)

Dua for Laylatul Qadr 

We should recite laylatul qadr dua frequently all night till morning. The prophet used to pray dua for layla tul qadr himself and Hazrat Aiesha also taught it. 

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

” Allahumma innaka Afuwwun [Karimun ] tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee “

O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love pardon, so pardon me

Can we see Layla Tul Qadr?

A devoted Muslim can see Laila Tul Qadr, especially a person whom ALLAH helps to see. The sahabahs(رضي الله عنه) used to observe it by signs. But not seeing them something special, it does not mean that one will not achieve its reward, if one spends his night in prayer and rosary out of faith and the hope of recompense. The Muslim should attempt to search for it in the last ten days of Ramadan, as urged by the Prophet( صلى الله عليه وسلم) hoping to earn the award.

What are the Signs of Layla Tul Qadr?

There are many signs of layla tul qadr, but here we described a few signs as under.

• It is clear, pure, and airy.
• The sun rises early in the morning without any rays.
• The night is calm, relaxed, and peaceful without extreme cold or heat.
• A peaceful atmosphere. 
• The moon is bright and overshine. 

when is Laylatul qadr 2025?

Here we explained that when is laylatul qadr 2025. 2025 Ramadan expected to begin on Friday, Feb. 28, or Saturday, March 01, 2025. As mentioned above laila tul qadr is one night in the last ten nights of Ramadan. As described above, majority of scholars narrate that it is the night of the 27th of Ramadan. So according to the 27th night of Ramadan, Layla tul qadr will be on 26 March 2025 or 27 March 2025.

Why was Laila Tul Qadr kept secret?

There are many signs of layla tul qadr, but here we described a few signs as under.

• For the sake of continuous worship, the night was not revealed
• Since Allah loves his servants to wake up and stay awake during the night, he made the night not fixed so that they spend many nights in worship searching for it. 
• If due to some compulsion, a man’s that night was left, then it would not be possible to remedy it.

Conclusion 

According to Quran and Hadith laylatul qadr is a very precious and valuable night. We should worship and prayer frequently for Allah all night till morning and we should give something to charity because charity sanctifies our wealth. But remember,  we should pay our charity at the best level of charity in Islam. As mentioned above this night is better than a thousand months. It is the night of huge blessing, pity, mercy, forbearance, and forgiveness. May ALLAH include us in the people who find Laila Tul Qadr and worship all night.
