Status-of-a-Women-in-Islam

In this day and age, women all around the world suffer from excessive misbehavior. Western women are not safe even in their backyards. Not only this, but the media also shows a discriminating image of women who raise voices for their basic rights. We are telling you the status of women in Islam.

Muslim women are no exception to this rule; Muslim countries have special rights for women that reflect the real value of Islam. Islam doesn’t spread hatred, it spreads peace and love. Although Islamic teaching is crystal clear, still we must bring the importance of Islam regarding the matter of women’s rights.

Islam, the Liberator of Women

Status-of-a-Woman-in-Islam

Before the advent of Islam, cruel behavior towards women was common. If you have a newborn baby girl, chances are the society will burn her alive. Women were considered to be a disgrace to society. If a woman-owned any property. Moreover, they were authorized to administer her property to any male member of their family. Women’s father or brothers will pick a male member for their marriage.

Moreover, With the advent of Islam, things change in the whole world. The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) taught people to respect women of all ages.

“Men shall have the share of that which they have earned, and women a share of that which they have earned.” (Surah al-Nisa, Ch.4: V.33)

Islam Teaches us All

Islam changed the perspective of how society treats women. It gave women the right to inherit effectively and practically. Whether a woman is a sister, mother, daughter, or wife, she receives a certain share of the property from her deceased relative.

In Islam, Allah Almighty clearly gives women a high status and elaborates on their position in society. The Holy Quran, also mentions the sacrifice a mother makes while giving birth to a child.

“Heaven lies under the feet of your mother”, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The importance of Women’s right

Women also have the right to work alongside men in any industry and spend the money she earns, as per her wishes. There is no teaching that she should share her money with relatives or family members. They also have full rights to accept or reject a marriage proposal. If someone forces her to do this, she has the right to seek divorce.

Moreover, In Islam or any other religion, marriage is based on mutual understanding, compassion, peace, and love.

“The best of you are those who are best to their wives.” Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Conclusion

In many countries, Including Islamic ideals, women still hesitate on their basic rights. There are laws based on such topics that change a person’s mindset. In the end, we must share the teaching of Islam. Teach to a non-muslim that Islam is a religion of peace and we are the first nation to introduce rights for women. The Holy Quran is your best guide, it has inspired many generations to uphold the economic and spiritual rights of Women.
