Islam is a Religion of Peace
Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance. It has been originated in Saudia Arab and was founded by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Islam is simple; it preaches nothing but peace and simplicity around the globe. But why there are so many negative thoughts about this religion? It’s because of some false conspiracy of negativity and some individuals that spread terror in the name of Islam.
As of 2020, there are more than 2 billion Muslims around the world. The term Muslim world or Islamic world refers to the same Islamic community. If there are so many people following this religion, then there must be something that the rest of the world doesn’t understand. In this post, we’ve explained why Islam is a religion of peace and how you can best understand this religion.
The Foundation of Islam
Islam, a major religion around the world is promulgated by the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in Saudia Arabia in the 7th Century, approximately 600 years ago. In Islam, the Muslim believes in the oneness of God, Allah – which the creator, sustainer, and resorter of the world.
In Islam, the Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is considered as the last of a series of the prophet that includes Noah, Moses, Adam, Jesus, and Solomon.
The Building Block of Islam
The five pillars of Islam are some basic facts that believers – Muslims must follow in their life. These pillars summarize the famous hadith of ‘Gabriel‘.
- Profession of Faith
“There’s one God and Mohammad is the Messenger of God”. The first pillar of Islam believes in the oneness of Allah Almighty. There’s only one God, and Muhammad (PBUH) is the last messenger of Islam.
-
Salat (Prayers)
A Muslim must offer daily prayers in the name of God. There are 5 prayers, each having its different times and states.
-
Zakat (Alms)
The most striking fact about Islam is that it offers the concept of Zakat. This means a person participating in Islam should donate a part of their earning to the poor. This is why Muslims are the most charitable people around the world.
-
Fasting
The fasting during Ramadan is called saum. This month, Muslims around the world fast without eating or drinking anything in the day time.
-
Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Muslims offer Hajj in the last month of the Islamic calendar in the holy city of Mecca.
The Oneness of God
“He, Allah, is One. Allah is He on Whom all depend. He begets not, nor is He begotten. And none is Like Him” (Quran, 112:1-4).
The teaching of Islam is the oneness of Allah. This is the foundation of Islam, if you take it away, then there’s nothing left. The holy book of Islam; the Quran is
“a guidance for mankind, and the distinction (between right and wrong)” (Quran 2:185).
It provides guidance upon which we Muslims can judge between what is right and what is wrong. Allah Almighty is full of love and kindness to His creation. Islam teaches that Allah is merciful toward us and will forget us from our sins. Similar to how Islam forbids any wrong attributing.
Islam and Women
Islam is the only religion that provides equal rights to women. Before the advent of Islam, women were slaughter, buried, and burned alive. However, Islam offered rights to women. Also, Islam gives respect to women as they are children, mothers, sisters, and wives. The prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, “I command you to be kind to your women”.
Conclusion

If you want to know this religion, read it yourself. Don’t resemble on Media and social coverage of how bad this religion is. No religion, nowhere on Earth preaches hatred.
